Garrett County Advocacy Committees

There are two (2) Garrett County Advocacy Committees. One committee is appointed to examine the topic of the school system enrollment trends as it relates to school populations. The second committee is tasked to examine the need for the Southern Middle School renovation.

Both committees will meet together for background information on the topics of Finance / Human Resources, Instructional Programs, Transportation / Enrollment. In April/May each committee will determine the content of a presentation to the Garrett County Board of Education regarding its respective topic.

The general public is welcome to attend the Advocacy Committee Meetings; however, it should be noted that although there will be some presentations, the advocacy committees will be discussing and debating ideas regarding the two areas of study.
